THE MIRACLE AND THE SLEEPER

This is my interpretation of the Dream Theaters' masterpiece
Metropolis Part 1. This song is played almost in it's 95% in 4 strings,
but I made this transcription based in what I thought John Myung plays
in his 6 string (see 5 years in a lifetime video). Nevertheless the song
can be fully played on 4 strings so I included a 4 stg arrangement at
the end of the tab. The parts that requiere a B stg or a C stg are included
in the "main" tab (this is, as I told you, my interpretation of John Myung
playing on 6 strings). The real cool thing to play it on 6 strings is that
you won't have to fry your fingers in some complicated figures and that the
part played from 6:38 to 7:00 can be played in a really cool way (see
the video!!). Anyway, with what you have written here, you can fully play
THE MASTERPIECE on 4, 5 or 6 strings.
It was very though work transcribing and tabbing this one so I hope
you find it useful. Anyway I asure it to be almost 100% correct.
I think this is the hardest one of Dream Theater so it may seem really
hard at first but, practice!!.
This song is full of figures that will really help you to improve
your bass playing skills.
The time bars are not always located according to the songs timing
but they are intended to divide the song in rhytmic or melodic figures.
Learn each figure at a time and the trick to John Myung style of playing
is practice and practice and practice. Enjoy!!!!

this one (originally my tab was hand written, and as I saw, typing
a tab is REALLY BORING!)and helping me with all the time bars
(although some of them divide rhytmic or melodic figures as I
previously mentioned).

As far as I know this is the most complete unofficial bass tab to
Metropolis Part 1. (I really don't know if there is any official tab).
